David Dickie was born in Scotland but is now based in Bristol, England. He holds a bachelor's degree in Photographic Arts from the University of Westminster. After leaving Film School in London he has spent over thirty years in the film industry. He first worked with Chris Nupen at Allegro Films working on documentaries about classical music and many of the great musicians of our time. He then spent twelve years as a director of Partridge Films, a major producer of natural history films set up by Michael Rosenberg. Partridge Films not only made some wonderful films but also started many of the careers of todays top wildlife filmmakers.  

After Partridge Films he became an independent and has worked on many award winning films for a variety of broadcasters including the BBC, Channel Four, National Geographic, and Discovery. 

He has been nominated for both Emmy's and Bafta's. In 2006 he won a 'Panda' award at the prestigious Wildscreen competition. 

His film work has taken him to some of the most beautiful places on our planet giving him the opportunity to take these photographs. 

 He is currently working on 'Dolphin Dreamswhich is a film about two special needs children who have Global Developmental Delay.
